Any PhD Bloggers out there?

S

Thought I'd ask, so we can share the benefits of your experience.

Happened to notice that our MSN accounts allow us to blog. Anyone fancy starting a blog of their PhD experiences? Time, persistence and boredom permitting, I might keep one through my PhD. I guess anonymity will be essential though! What do we think?

Between coming on here and doing your blog how much time will you have left for your atcual PhD?

sylvester, I have a PhD blog but 2 of my supervisors told me to keep it private, instead of public (or only to make certain parts of it public). So to be honest, I don't see the point of having a weblog if it's not going to be public. It can simply be called diary and I hate keeping diaries. Because of that reason, I haven't been updating it for months now.

ah ok, I mis-read. You've actually suggested a blog for "PhD experiences", not for our individual PhDs. Sorry, my mistake.

Whoa there Golfpro, what are you saying? I wasn't intending slavishly writing a mini-essay every day, but rather something I write as and when the mood takes me.

In terms of coming on here, I guess you are suggesting I spend too much time here. Maybe, but then I'm currently serving out a long protracted notice period which began in April so I spend my days at work having very little interest in it whilst counting the days to do the thing i really want todo. That's why I end up here. Sorry!

I was pulling your leg sylvester. Please blog/post away to your hearts content.

I have one blog on myspace saying what my phd is about but thats it. I would be reluctant to post anything else as I would not wish it to be seen by those who I work with!
