Hello everyone! This is my first post..... At my uni were thinking about setting up an online graduate forum, a bit like this one. It will be used for networking, setting up research interest groups, interacting with other disciplines and organising social groups etc etc. The forum will also provide opportunites to meet others too. We all know how isiolating reserach can be. Does anyone here have something similar already up and running at their university? Has it been a success?
Hi Miro,
I'm trying to set up something similar: if you read my thread dated 5th October ("IT-related question...") you'll see that MsCrow gave a number of options. Ms Crow, if you're reading this, I think I would like to go with the Wiki option, if you could advise me what to do next? I did look at the Ovidentia site but it was mainly in French which I can't read.
Hi Juno!
Luckily I wont be setting up the grad-student support myself. We have IT department doing this... hooray! But will pass on Ms Crow's info to them. I really wanted to know about experiences of folks here who might have used a similar forum at their university. I think it could be a great support network for PhD students who are working and or have other committments. Good luck with your IT project...
