I wouldn't say never, but...NO.

I hope I can say 'no'. But i would feel a lot of press from family, who is expecting me to get a good job, and academic is good from their point of view. Although, I hope I can work just as a shop assistant, etc and and could enjoy my life when i get home. I don't want to mix my life and work together any more.

it's not that bad really 25-30k. I guess it depends on your age too.

Would love to get a position as a postdoc (CVs have gone out), but the chance of me getting one is small. (Sorry to sound depressing, having an awful day).

I am applying despite that postdoc salary in my field is max 22K. Will churn out several publications while doing postdoc and then try to get a proper lecturer post. I am afraid that it is impossible to get a lecturership without postdoc:(
