Hi,
I've just started a science phd (started in oct) and before christmas I was really motivated and felt like I knew what to do. Just after christmas I handed a draft copy of my lit review to my supervisor(we have to write a 3000 word lit review to see if we are on track). I'm waiting to get some feedback from him about it. But since handing it in I've not really known what to do with myself. I still have lots of lab work to do but I cant seem to write anything. Anyone have any ideas of how I can get myself motivated again?
tbh if you already have 3000 words written that aint bad going. You say you have lots of work to do still so it isnt as though you are doing nothing. when you start getting results out of those experiments i'm sure you have stuff to write about then. in the mean time, enjoy your free time :D
A scientist who wants to write more? You are an anomaly!
I agree with Jewel. Focus on your benchwork until you get your lit review draft back. Write up any methods or results your benchwork yields. Otherwise, just enjoy the feeling of wanting to write without needing to do it.
