Have you ever climbed a mountain? And tried to touch the stars? Have you flown a rocket to the moon or maybe even Mars? Have you swam beneath the ocean? Or surfed a tidal wave? These are the dreams I'm dreaming of, the fantasies I crave. Duh, duh duh duh duh, duh duh duh duh, duh duh duh duh duh duh etc.
Tut, tut DanB. Referencing!
It should of course read:
"A good heart these days is hard to find, so please be gentle with this heart of mine." (Sharkey, 1985)
And on the topic of great scientific contributions, let us not forget words of wisdom to help PhDers everywhere:
"When the going gets tough, the tough get going." (Ocean, 1986)
Anyone any other great lyrical quotes to help us through life?
I first heard the (rather bad but catchy) Billy Joel song 'we didn't start the fire' a year or two ago, and I identified with it because I'm in a chemistry department where there is the occasional fire:
"We didn't start the fire
It was always burning
Since the world's been turning
We didn't start the fire
No we didn't light it
But we tried to fight it"
