Is it possible for someone to get a Phd again if you already have in the same area a Phd in another country?
Why you'd want to take up a second one after going through the hell of the first is beyond me Sounds like madness! (Sorry, my PhD has been an uphill struggle. What's that quote? Oh yes, "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times." Sums up my two and a bit years)
Saying that though, some PhD's from some countries aren't recognised in others so if you wanted to emigrate etc. you might have to do another.
but i definitely believe that you cannot submit something in the new place which you already submitted/got a degree for somewhere else, that would be fraud. so if the topic is closely related, you would find it hard to show that the new PhD is a totally new piece of work which is independent of your old PhD.
