First of all hello all, this seem like a great site. My supervisor just told me that according to APA format rules when citing a journal article in my references I do not add the issue number. This is news to me as no one has ever mentioned this in my university career. Is this true? and if so where can i find this info in the APA publication manual. thanks for all your help.
As a first step, you might want to clarify what you mean by APA - there are many organisations using those initial e.g. American Psychiatric/Pharmaceutical/Psychological/Planning/Payroll/Philogical/Poolplayers Association, Advertising Producers Association, Association of Police Authorities et cetera
If you mean the Psychological APS, this may help??

If you have a copy of the Publication Manual, just check the table of contents and look for citations. I'm sure they want the issue number to be displayed.
Alternatively, on Amazon, there are the "Concise Rules of APA Style" available for under £10, just in case you don't want to read the entire Publication Manual.
