My story is completely true if anyone can think of a better way to salvage this then please write your response.
I started a PhD in England and all was okay in the beginning. My supervisor also employed a PDRA an eastern European young married woman who later on I found out that he was having an affair with.
Part of my research was going to trips with him and she got jealous. A war upon me started. They accused me of bad behaviour 2-3 times formally. Finally in my 1st year confirmation report after my supervisor contacted my assessors they failed me twice with unreasonable comments like "she does not collaborate with peers" or "we do not see a clear goal in PhD. I cannot fill that gap in my CV I lost almost 2 years and I am devastated. They also maliciously said, "we do not recommend her for an MPhil as she may not develop the skill, even though I have a Masters from previous studies. I appeal and they threw that appeal in the rubbish, I honestly hate this country this is worse than the corruption in Greece.

I'm not sure what you can do now if your appeal has been unsuccessful. Did you not have a second supervisor?

I am so sorry to hear about this. I was in exactly the same situation as you've described but luckily I requested to change supervisors and escaped the situation.

As tree of life suggested, you could try getting help from a supervisor or your co-or ordinator/head of programme. Do you have any proof of what happened like messages from his other student? You could appeal the decision and work under another supervisor.

Sorry to hear this. I do not feel surprised when I heard your story. This happened on my PhD colleague, her supervisor reported her bad behavior to the department and would like to withdraw her with his own mistake! I do not think complain is a wise method because the university staffs Basicly do not speak for students even they say : we care about students. That is not true. what they care is only about ' not losing' their job and get paid. So I think if you could find another organization this should be the best solution. I have another friend whose supervisor died after her first year of PhD study, then she transferred to another oganisation where did count her first year in when she enrolled again. It is great. She is happy since then.

Basicly, I had a completely horrible experience doing my PhD in my organization, too. They changed my main supervisor three times, every time, without asking my opinion. Two of them are rubbish indeed. My last supervisor who has only got BA degree with a few years working experience, he teaches he BA in my university. You could image my supervision meeting with this guy should be terribelly useless! What he passed me is: oh, I got a friend who did her PhD for six years, and had changed her supervisor three times, your experience is not the worst! How can a supervisor saying things like this!

So Michaela, you a re not alone at all, be positive to look for a wider oppotubities if possible.
