Hi! I am not currently working in research - I work as an Environmental Consultant. I want to complete a PhD in environmental science. I am finishing my part-time MSc whilst I work. Do you think my consultancy experience go against me when I apply, as I am not completing research?

Your consultancy work should not go against you. Particularly as you are staying in the same field.
