I'm submitting my corrected thesis this week which involves changes to all chapters including one which had to be completely re-written.
I'm wondering how long it should take to hear back and if there is anything I can do to speed the process along (without pestering the examiners!)?
If I'm able to get them approved within 3 weeks time then I will meet the deadline for July graduation, if not I will have to wait until January 2018.
I know if shouldn't matter as I will hopefully get there in the end but can't help but wonder how long it will take and I have family who have booked a day off work to attend a graduation ceremony which I may or may not be at.

I am in the same position and have waited 8 weeks so far-I probably won't make graduation as the uni managed to lose my thesis before it even made it to the external. Can you get your supervisor to give a nudge? Quote that you are job hunting and can't move forward etc.
Thanks both.
My supervisor has offered to give them both a nudge, he is working with one of them and friends with another (I had 2 externals and both have to sign off on them).
That timescale is usefuly to know marak. I figured 4 weeks was reasonable. I may just miss the cut of for this summer but it wouldn't make much difference in the long-run.

Same here..! I submitted my thesis 28th of january...It took the faculty and my committee 3 months to revise it..!!! So I got it back last Friday of April.. with minor revisions...some references that got misplaced...(damn word!) I fixed it in 4 days and gave it back to the faculty...! now it's up again for my committee to re-check! And I have no clue if I will defend this June or after summer in September...depending if my committee replies within one week...or they take 2 months again...!
Anyway...it seems this is how university and academics work...here and in Mars..! just really annoying living in this "uncertainty" all the time..!!
Good luck and patience to you all!
Keep in there!! A bit of chasing paid off for me. Got my results! Dr subject to a couple of days worth of typos.
I am in a similar position. I only have a few changes, so it shouldn't take them long to check it over. I gave them 3 weeks but I am also wondering whether I should chase it up or ask my supervisor too. Really want to graduate this summer, it'll be lovely in the summer, especially for the pics ;-)
So my supervisor tells me that he's not allowed to chase up my corrections. He was very nice about it but worried about breaking university policy. Guess I just have to wait and try and forget about them now!
