I am a 2nd year phd student and am interested in doing a post-doc following completion of my phd. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a good template for a CV and are the any particular things I should include as my research area is science?

G

Hi Kathleen, Microsoft Office have a few templates you can adjust and play around with to get ideas! I would include your publications as they are important and will definitely look good! I think they are included in a separate page to your CV. Your research skills (lab and other skills eg. fieldwork if applicable would also be important I think. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I think your supervisor, the research group you're part and what research you've done should be mentioned!

G

DO NOT USE MICROSOFT TEMPLATE!!!!!! They ll turn you down straight away. The university where u r doing ur PhD must have a career centre, they will advice you and help you for that

Hi Ralph, Just to let you know that is what I used for my CV although I did change the layout a bit I've had no problems and have even got a few offers!

What is important is that the information is presented in a way that is clear and easy to read with correct spelling and grammar.
