Whats everyone planning to do with their PhD? I'm one of the people going into it 'for the love of the subject' (neurology in particular) but was just curious as to what other peoples plans were?

G

Same here! I'm trying to get the one I want for the love of the subject!

G

What are you going to do when you have finished?

G

Hi. I'm waiting to start my PhD. I'm doing it because I find the subject interesting, I like lab work, not quite ready to leave uni yet, want to become a researcher. Jobs available to graduates don't appeal to me - don't think they reflect the amt of study thats required for your primary degree.

G

also, I really love the sense of belonging to a specialised area - the research community seems quite small, with everyone knowing everyone else. I want to be part of that. I cant wait for my first publication! I'll frame it and post it on here - divided up into sections of 100-words or so.

G

I am not only interested in the suject, but also I want to teach it to others afterwards. It's related to business communications between people of different nationalities and cultures, and I truely believe that every student nowadays have to know alot about this area to be a successfull professional in the future! And, of course, I want to do research and find new ways to help people to develop their cross-cultural skills.

Alex, you're mother should be proud of you.

Anon,
I am not even sure if my mom likes the idea of me going to the UK to study for a PhD. So, no proud parents here .... Just the ones asking whether I am thinking of getting married any time soon or ever ...
