Hi, i'm in the last year of my Bachelor of Business (Information Systems) at Swinburne University, Australia. I plan to pursue MSc (and then PhD) at the same uni, but I have difficulty in choosing my research topic. I'm in the process of writing research proposal and i've been looking at the computation of route guidance and spatial reasoning. The funny thing is that I've never learned this stuff in my 1st degree, at all. My uni is funding research in that area, so I thought I've better chance to secure scholarship by working in the same research area. But I increasingly feel that I'm taking the wrong thing. I have no interest in route guidance/spatial reasoning and I'm not good in math and physics. Should I be extremely honest with myself and my supervisor? Should I work on something of which I have fundamental knowledge (in this case Business Information Systems)?
