Hi,
What are the options when it comes to a dropping a supervisor?
I have a main supervisor who has supervised for me for the past year. I recently got two additional supervisors first one because my supervisor has to supervise with a senior, & the second supervisor was I think more for strategic reasons (he didn't have any PhD students and supervisor wanted to work with him on other projects). I have now found someone within the university who could probably add real value to my work, and I'm thinking whether I should ask first supervisor if the third could be dropped in place of this new found out professor?
1st supervisor put forward these two options - and I just went along with it. I haven't actually even had a sup meeting with third supervisor so I can't really see much of a loss and don't really see him adding much value to my work.
Is this rather rude or is this something that is done? I don't want to upset people ... What is the best approach to take?
