I have just finished my masters degree at Cardiff and I am considering studying a PhD in the usa. I have heard that in the states PhD take longer and I am wondering just how long they take on average? I would also like to know if anyone knows of any sites I can contact regarding PhD funding in the states

Although a very small number of 4 year PhD programmes have begun in the USA, the vast majority run for 5 years or more. Things are subject specific and institution specific. When you apply ask for their average time to submission.

The situation in China is about the same.We need 4~5 years to studing a PhD.
