I've been living happily ever after with Endnote for years. Only tonight it suddenly decided to act differently and I don't know how to bring it back to its usual. I'd appreciate your help:

Normally in Microsoft Word every time I insert a citation via CWYW, word places proper formatted citations (in brackets, date-author). Today for some reason, in the middle of the document it started inserting them as temporary citations. Unless I go to edit and select remove individually, those citations remain as temporary. How can I go back to how it was before and just insert formatted citations?

So it used to place directly as (Hallett, 1997) now it inserts as {Hallett, 1997 #252}

ok, it was a simple reason (I still don't know why settings re-adjusted themselves - could be a keyboard shortcut) but Instant Formatting was disabled. (just in case anyone else comes across the same problem...)
