Hi!
I have a 3 years BSc (Hons) degree earned from a UK university through e-learning. Actually, I did the first two years diplomas from NCC, UK and then got in to this degree and earned it with a 2.1, though my GPA is not that impressive.
On the other hand I have done well in my thesis - which subjected to the commendation of course leader, even some academics commented on it saying it is on par with an MSc thesis. Anyway, my thesis was quite wide in scope and I published few conference papers from it. Also I have already submitted a journal paper which is under review and now working with another one.
Apart from this, I am now involved in collaborative research with an international university and planning to co - author some papers based on that.
I recently applied for a Phd in Australia and got rejected - amazingly not for funding but for admission itself. Is there any chances for me to improve myself by doing further researches (as I do now) and submit some papers. I mean, does non degree research experience and some good publications will improve my profile from the current stage - without considering a Masters?
Actually, I had only two conference papers at the time I applied for the above offer which got rejected. In case of having few journal papers, could it be improved? Still I don't know the reason for rejection may be due to the fact that my one is a credit transfer based degree.
Thanks.......
