I want to do a PhD in the conseqences for personal moral responsibity and recent research in genetics. (determinism ! )Where can I find a supervisor who is a specialist in both philosophy and genetics ? Anybody know of any good web sites or university departments ?
Nottingham University have a great institute called the Institute for the study of Genetics, Biorisks and Society (IGBiS). They offer multidisciplinary PhD positions in the field of Genetics with collaborations from other departments, including Philosophy. You might need to do an MA in Research Methods before embarking on a PhD as most of their funding is from ESRC who require an MA in an accredited social science subject. Also, Nottingham is a great University! Good luck.
consider in doing a PhD involving genetics due to the ethics and principles of genetic research, at present our ethics and principles are challenged buy the government, which can interfere with our brains unknowingly change body, physiologicaly and biochemically, there might be an involvement within psychotronic generators - look up on web. certain universities know about existence and is already in use. for certain staff in essex uni (biological science dept ) are aware plus kent oxford and cambridge
good luck !
