After getting better grades than i though in a biology degree im considering applying for a PhD. 2 questions- First, Can you suggest your own title or do you have to do what the uni/supervisor suggests. Second, is there a site that collates available PhDs from around the world and/or allows you to post your details and the uni/supervisors can get in touch? sorry, for the basic questions, i only decided to go for a PhD recently. Any help would be great. Thanks.

You can suggest your own research title if you wish to fund the PhD yourself. The majority of PhD projects in the sciences are funded by the research councils or research cahrities and have fixed research projects.
