Hi,

I sent my PhD thesis to this proofreader, Proofedit (www.proofedit.co.uk). They claimed that they are profesional proofreader. However, my supervisor found it wasn't up to PhD standard. I made a complain and sent it again. Second time, the thesis came back with another gramatical errors and headings/sub-headings errors that I detected myself. I sent her another email to make a complain along the evidence of her incompentency, but been ignored. After my viva, both examiners found many gramatical errors on my thesis. I paid GBP400 for the service, and now have to pay another GBP400 to another proof reader. I have emailed her and request for money refund but she does not reply. What should I do to get my money back? Any advice?

Did you pay with credit card? If so you should be able to get it back.

I'm going to stick with asking family members and friends to proof read!

You could take them to the small claims court

Thank you DanB and Sneaks,

I paid using my credit card through google checkout. I have open a dispute through google just now to get my money back. The small claims court should be my last resort.
