High, can is ask is it possible to get funding for a part-time PhD. I am a medic, whom needs help in paying tution fees and some travel costs. I seen that MRC funds part time PhD's, does any one know how we apply for one ...... I am doing my PhD in molecular mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases (Huntingtons).
If you have already started your PhD then applying to the research councils is unlikely to work (the MRC does not accept applications direct from students anyway). If you are a qualified doctor then you could try contacting the BMA for advice (not for funds). They should be aware of specialist funding aimed at medics. You could also look on the AMRC (Association of Medical Research Charities) web site to find a charity which might help fund your research.
