Hello all,
I'm new to the forums, so this is my first post.
I have recently been confirmed as a PhD Candidate in my PhD programme at Lancaster University (Department of Educational Research, Technology Enhanced Learning and E-Research). I am hoping to find funding for the final year to two years of my studies/research.
I'm an American Citizen that lives in Canada as a Permanent Resident. My PhD programme is part-time. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions as to finding funding for my type of scenario/situation?
Any and all help appreciated!
Thanks,
Justin
You might check to see if you are eligible for American federal government student loans based on your plan of study and your university. I am not sure whether part time study is eligible for funding--but the student loan folks can quickly sort you out and explain what various options there might be for you. If you are not sure who to contact,

start here, this is the US government website with info on federal student loans.
Hope that this helps!
Just a thought here. Could JBonzo get funding from the likes of the EPSRC in the UK?
I'm thinking if it's a normally funded Ph.D. offered by the University, the funding body would be funding the project with the student paid their bursary from that (as per standard - funding sorted by University and supervisors). However, I'm not sure if this would work with non-UK students. If this did work, JBonzo would not have to pay back a loan for the Ph.D..
Anyone know more?
