I'm no longer a student....in fact I live in South Korea so I can't even just pop into my old university library.
I really need to access a number of journal articles to write my research proposal but can't possibly shell out £35 + for each article (there are at least ten I require).
How exactly are non-students meant to research their proposed subject without an institutional log in!? I'm at my wits end!!!
Thanks in advance for any help
Roisin
I imagine a person will have to tap into their contacts. If you have good relationship with staff in your old uni, you could ask them but probably for something specific rather than a vague request for articles on a particular topic.
Is there something specific you are looking for?
Have you tried putting the references into scholar google? It will bring up any copies that the authors have stored as open access. Increasingly I'm finding more and more authors do this. Alternatively if you go to a major city library, the interlibrary loan charges are likely to be less than buying each article from the publisher.
