A quick question to any other part time students studying remotely. I sent my supervisor a progress report and a message asking for some feedback so I know whether the suggestions I have proposed for further work seem reasonable, that was on the 14th and as yet despite another email asking for confirmation he received it I have had no reply. DO I have grounds to be P***ed off with this, do others have the same problem or is it just me?
Any feedback would be gratefully received
Thanks
Max
hi max
I'm not part time but I have part-time student who face the same problem; and everybody gets P***ed off (eventually). You could also try ringing your supervisor? In the next week or weeks, if you don't receive any news you might have to report this to your graduate school or some other authority.

Hey Max! Every supervisor is different, so I guess you have to judge it by his/her usual standards! My sup has everything marked and returned within about 48 hours of handing it in, but I think she's pretty unique with respect to this- some of my pals have to wait for a couple of months for feedback on things. I would try to establish if there is any kind pf problem before you get openly p***ed off though- there's nothing worse than being arsey with someone just to find out that they've had an emergency operation or one of their parents has just died or something! So maybe ring up and make enquiries as to whether he/she is around, and if they are perhaps try to catch them on the phone? Best, KB
I agree with KB.
First make sure that nothing really emergency happened, something that does not allow your supervisor to respond and then you can take the issue further.
I sould also say that I understand how you are feeling. Although now I have 2 very good supervisors, who give me feedback in a week after sending them my work, I wasn't so lucky during my MBA. I had a tutor/supervisor who was taking 3 or even 4 months to give me feedback! the worse thing was that that time was time that extended my course and meant that I had to do it in 3 years instead of 2! And the reason he gave for the longest dealy, was that he was on holiday for 3 months and he didn't want to have anything to do with work!
Anyway, good luck!
