Thank you very much for your time to read my post.
I am planning to apply a phd in finance, specializing in credit risk management. i have contacted a professor directly in this field, (sent him an email attached my resume and a brief writing of my research topic), I expected that he would reply me directly weather he is interested to supervise me or not, then I can send full application. But he just transferred my email to admission office, and I get rejected without even make proper application.
My question are
I am a master graduate in finance from top 10 uk uni five years ago, do I need GMAT score for phd admission?
How are the application procedures? My idea is that…….
Contact future supervisor (if yes)------make application,& prepare GMAT test ( need 2months preparation) --------apply funding
Do I need to take GMAT first, then send my result together with application ? or I can send my application first and tell them GMAT will be sent to them later? Coz I need more time to prepare the test and I am afraid that I will miss out some application deadlines..
Also, do I need apply funding myself, or the supervisor will find funding for me ?
Anyone can give me links for funding in finance research, especially for risk management which could be available, coz this is topic that bankers talk about under current economic condition…
Any input are welcomed..
