Hi, does anyone else feel the same as me at the moment. I've applied for a few PhDs, and had an interview for one but haven't heard anymore about any of them. All I can think about is the applications -what i've done wrong on them. I keep fretting, I know there's nothing I can do now but I just can't switch off. It's driving me potty.
Hi Claire The only way to put your mind at ease is to find out what's happening. Give them a call after Easter and ask if they have considered your application (or selected a candidate after the interview). If it's bad news, then it's a good time to ask for some feedback. Hopefully, it will be good news and you can celebrate! Either way, you will be able to move on and stop fretting. All the best :o)
Stick with it. I am in the same boat. If you can't get a PhD you really want then my advice to you would be to try applying for research assistant/technicians job, if you can do this, then it shows commitment to a PhD, well thats what I am hoping. It also makes it clearer whether a PhD is right for you. Well it did for me.
Does anyone know how long it takes UCL to get back to you (if they do) after you hand in an application? It's driving me mad as this would be my top choice if only I could get it! But I know it's so competitive that I'm worried I won't even get an interview!
