Hi all,
I'm thinking of applying for a technical post within my institution, but in a different department, and I feel I should go and see the PI before I apply (as I think it may show lack of interest etc if I don't when I'm doing my Phd in the same institution and I could easily go and see him). But I don't know what to say/ask!!
Its a science position and the advert mentions general day to day running of the lab and also performing experiments-so I could ask about techniques they use etc?
The adverts only asks for a BSc so am not sure if doing the Phd will go against me. (ie overqualified?)
What advice can any of you guys offer? I don't want to seem stupid but feel it would be courteous to go and see them before hand (my sup says I should go and see him too) but just have no idea what to say/do as I've never been in the situation before.
Thanks
Trin
