Hello everybody, as I wrote in the title I am in a trouble with my PhD. I started it about 18 months ago, at that time my work there was quite clear. But after a bad management of my activity and broken instruments, I drastically changed my research activity more times. Even if I have a sottomission for a paper as second author, I think that a large amount of skills and works I pursued will be not useful for my future work as PhD.
I knew many people who got their first paper only after 2 years and even more, but it seems that my situation is particularly difficult. It also came to my knowledge that if you give up a PhD after two years or more, you could hardly get a new one.
Now I have two ideas in my mind: I could stick with this PhD and try to get something reasonably interesting that will allow me at least to get a Master of Research in few months, or I could give up now my PhD (even if it gives me a salary!) and look for some other jobs/PhD/Master opportunities.
Could you suggest me what should be the best thing to do?
