I just faced an unexpected situation, I may fail my PhD. My supervisor applied one month extension for me, because we both considered that I may need more time to finish my PhD thesis. I used to apply half year leave due to personal issues, and university agreed with 6 months application from Dec to following year May, however due to visa issue, the leave can only started from one month later (Jan to may) therefore, I lost one month of my time of leave, and university agreed that I can apply one month extension at the end of my PhD.
However, my extension application have been rejected by university, just two days before my deadline. they changed the meeting date due to panel member's personal issues and re-held the meeting two days before my deadline. I had to submit my paper last Thursday without a conclusion.
Therefore,no conclusion chapter, and the whole thesis had no time to proofreading (My English do need further refurbishment). I have no time to correct the tense of my methodology chapter. No proper reference list which may led to an academic misconduct.(even though I used a whole night to arrange the references, but I know still quite a lot of references are missing).
I totally feel overwhelmed and I just rechecked the submit version and found out that I forgot to remove one small section. This is a section that my supervisor just recommended me to add in to my literature review, however I just found all the relevant research paper and listed them in that section and had no time to summarize or paraphrase them. I am afraid this may led to an academic misconduct.
I feel really depression right now. I am not sure whether I should apply for an appeal to my extension decision and I think I need a chance to recall my thesis back, finish it and resubmit it.
I have no confidence to use this version of thesis to viva.
Hope anyone can give me some suggestions.
Thanks
