Work with your body (i.e. lark or owl). I'm rubbish in the afternoons but good in the morning and in the evenings (which is why I'm working in the office now). As DanB says, an afternoon nap is a better than any amount of stimulants and should freshen you up nicely.
No, you must keep normal sleep patterns. If I have a nap in the afternoon then I'm good until 2am. 5 or 6 hours deep sleep then ready for action in the morning. Having two sleeping sessions naturally mirrors the body's own metabolism anyway. Best to work with it.
Go for a brisk walk in the cold. It'll clear your head straight away. If you're still feeling tired try a fruit smoothie made with natural yoghurt. Failing that give in to the tiredness and start early again the following morning. You can't always ignore it. Sleep well xx
