... I've tried coffee, herbal coffee subsitute, walks in the fresh air, cocaine ... but I still feel drained. Anyone got any suggestions on how to beat this? Currently working 7 am til about 10pm writing up thesis. Can't think of any other way to get it done in time. So tired cant see computer screen properly ...
(1) Drink lots of water - dehydration makes you tired (2) look away from the computer screen every so often - look at something in the distance. This reduces eye strain/headaches/stress = tireness (3) Take regular breaks - don't wait until you can't do anymore -timetable a ten minute break every 1-2hours (4)Make sure you are sleeping well - a few hours quality sleep is better than a restless 8 hours - unwind before bed - write down anything that is playing on your mind and may keep you awake (5) you need physical exercise as well as mental exercise to help you sleep (6) avoid stimulants - this just produces a 'rollercoaster' that will drain you.
I would say take some time off. I know it sounds cliche but to relax and do something different for a few hours will hopefully mean you'll come back to your writing with a fresh perspective. Also if you're writing all the time it'll mean your mentally tired but not physically, confusing for your body. Why don't you take up some kind of sport? It would get you away from the computer and give you a different scene for an hour or two.
