In the past on this forum when I have said that studying part-time was a tough yet rewarding experience, what I actually meant to say what studying part-time is fecking horrible and crap crap crap. I'm so knackered trying to fit study around work, I haven't talked about anything by work/study in months and all the full-timers are well ahead of me ARGHHHHHH!
hi SixKitten i know how you feel, although im full time i do work 2 days and sometimes 3 and it kills me. Along with having a crap time with doS im now 3yrs and feel so behind :(
You took part time though for certain reasons? so dont worry, you will get there probably before a lot of full timers actually!
Awww sixkitten take heart.
I remember when new people came on here trying to make the decision to go PT or FT and you have put across a logical argument for your choice and why it suited your situation at the time. I guess you have to try and remind yourself. I know it must feel a bit fustrating some times or a long road ahead, especially as you are having a bit of a rough time of it at the mo by the sounds of things - but you will get it done.
Aliby is 100% on with the comparing yourself thing. I really do believe you have to be the measure of your own success, because everyone is in a slightly different position as to how much support they have, finances, space to work, motivation etc...
Sixkitten, the more you stress about being left behind, the worse you will feel and the more demotivated you will get. It's a vicious cycle.
I agree with aliby, don't even compare yourself to the FT students and DON'T try and keep up. Just work at the rate you can cope to work at. Don't forget FT students (like myself) have only to do our own work and not try and raise money to be there in the first place. I greatly admire you for that and I'm sure other people on here do, so please don't lose hope.
