Hi, I really need your advice! For 15 months now, the only thing I got from my supervisor was funding. No ideas, no proper feedback not even help to get data. I am the one doing everything and he just disapproves or laughs at my ideas without providing any substitute. Now my proposal is under attack and he is blaming me!! I am having difficulty getting data and he does not care!! He just keeps threatening to stop funding (he is the head of dept!). Should I cut my losses and go home?
don't quit. if you do, the supervisor wins. at least you have funding, i'd say try speaking to your supervisor about things. you've already spend 15 months on this, don't quit now. are you a social science student? then that would be usual. if you're a science student, then you do have a problem with your supervisor.
