In need of advices regarding postgraduate education?
Hi guys, the situation is I'm finishing my Master degree of Professional Accounting in Sydney, and I was wondering whether I could apply for the PHD course of Economics, considering the 2 majors arent really related. If it is possible, how should I proceed in this matter?
Secondly, is the PHD degree commonly recognised between different institutions? For example, is a PHD degree from UNSW more credible than the one from Macquarie Uni or any colleges?
Lastly, are degrees from Aussie (Bachelor, Master and such) recognised worldwide? say if I wanted to apply for an accounting job in UK, and I got my CPA in Australia, will they accept it?
Thank you so much for your time
You need to check with the admin dept about whether you can be accepted into the programme.
A PhD is recognised worldwide, although some institutions are better than others.
I don't know about AUS unis.
You will probably need the UK qualification for a UK accounting job, since the legislation and tax etc is totally different, but I am not sure.
