Hi, I was just wondering if there are definately going to be increases in studentships over the next few years above the £10,500 available now.

As far as Im aware they are planned to go up incrementally by £500 a year to keep up with inflation - it depends who you get your studentship from - mine is only £8000 but it is not a research council one and they tend to be more. The majority of places try to keep offered studentships on a par with research council ones so contact them.

bbsrc 2004 £9500, 2005 £10500, 2006 £12000
CASE and priorities area studentship are at least £ 2000 more.
If u do not receive money directly from a council you wont never get a rise

I'm being funded by BBSRC this year and its £10,500 plus £2,000 from CASE sponsorship. So I guess my studentship will be £12,000 plus the (£2,000) case sponsorship in 2005?
