I saw an advert for a PhD at UCL, it didn't really have much information so I e-mailed the supervisor with my CV and asking for some more details. He then phoned me and suggested I go to his lab to meet the other students, have a look around etc. So, is this an interview?! I don't really know what to expect. Have been doing the normal literature searches on his name and lab etc but is there anything else I should be doing? Any tips for PhD interviews in general? Thanks for all the help!
Sounds like an informal interview. If you do go the lab head will probably have a chat with you- so prepare for an interview. If you do meet the other students ask them about their opinion about ther supervisor. Ask them if they would recomend doing a PhD with their group.
I am at UCL.. sounds like the kind of thing guys in my lab would do. Just go for the chat and be keen. Ask (email beforehand even) to see if they have similar work that you can take a look at. Which dept. is this?
