living costs

G

Hi!
I am from Poland. What are average living costs in England - including blowouts, of course :o)

G

I have no idea what a "blowout" is, but living expenses are around £6-7k per year minimum. London is more.

G

Many thanks! Blowout means fun I think heheh....

G

A blowout is a sexual favour, in some parts of the world!!!!

G

Hi!
Why not if it is possible but in some dictionaries blowout means fun with alcohol...not to much, of course, by the way don't you know what is average salary of PhD student?

G

Typical studentship will be £12,000 for 2005/06.

G

Thanks! So we have 12k-7k=5k for enjoyment heheh...0,4k for month!!!

G

personally i'm looking at £500-600 pcm rent + bills, then £100 ish food. That leaves £300 - £400 pcm. Then there's phone bills, broadband, transport/car expenses, reading materials/subscriptions, etc. etc. £12,000 really isn't much :(

G

then £100 ish food
you should be really skinny

G

2004/2005 bbsrc 10500£ / 12months 875 p.month
875 - 320 rent (shared accomodation) + bills if you are luky = 855p.month/ 30days= 18.5 p.day
you need them for food (hopefully 3 times a day) and all the rest

PS if you need a dentist for just a filling is 155 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck

G

Erm, £155 for a filling? Decimal point missing?

G

send me your e-mail I ll send you a scanned jpeg of the receipt assh.....

G

hej ...!

Love will be my food...with alcohol there is no problem hehehe......:o)))

G

re: £155.. for an international student? was the filling 24ct gold or amalgam?? Seriously, it cost my friend (an international student) £7 for an amalgam filling.

G

Private dentists are expensive (and you try getting registered for an NHS one in some parts of the UK!). My poor mum had an extraction last week and that cost £75 for one injection and 10 secs of plier work! So £155 for a private filling sounds quite feasible to me, especially if something complex like a root filling...owwwwww!! ;o)
