masters degree/having a family

M

I'm thinking of apply for a part time masters but also don't want to delay having a family any longer as I'm 37. What would happen if I completed the first year of the degree and then took the second year out (presuming things went to plan)? Leaving it for 2 or 3 years won't necessarily help me anymore as far as I can see, as I'll only spend 2 years juggling study and childcare whereas I can maybe get away with 1 year without a child in tow at this point.

Anyone been through a masters with these issues?
