Hi everyone,
I'm a medical doctor and haematologyst who is planning to make a break in my clinical work and apply for a PhD in Haemetology in the UK. Does anyone know if it would be wise to do a MRes first because being a medical doctor my lab experience is null or does the PhD includes lab training similar to a master in the first year? Do you also know if 36 years old is too old for apllying? Thanks in advance.
Well I trained as a vet so my level of lab experience would be something on a par to what you did at med school.. I didn't do a masters before starting my phd.. Basic lab techniques are easily picked up and more complex stuff can be learnt as you go along really.. If its something you really want to do then go for it
