Hi, I have just graduated with a 2:1 biochemistry degree, and am about to embark on a Ph.D in genetics. However I cant stop thinking about the possibility of becoming a medical Dr. Is it possible to get any funding to study medicine or should I just shut up and do my Ph.d which will give me £1000 per month.
Your best option for getting some sort of funding to do medicine as a second degree is to get on one of the new Fast Track medical degrees. Otherwise you may only qualify for further student loans. A quick search of google found this page on the University of Sheffield web site. The UCAS application deadline for medical degrees is October 15th, so you'll need to make your decision.
