I am a home student living with my parents and I've just started a PhD which isn't funded. I even have to pay my own tuition fees. I am really interested in my project and its definitly something I am going to enjoy for 3 years. But I'm so worried about the money. My supervisor is hoping to get a studenship for me but if he doesnt I'm going to have to pay it all myself. I really dont want to have to quit and I dont want 2 take a loan. What else can I do?
Either you're able or unable to afford afford self-funding. If you're unable, then really you should have only accepted the course on the condition that you receive funding. I hope for you that your supervisor can secure the funding. If not, it's a personal decision if your education or your finances take priority. Let your supervisor know the situation. Hope it goes well.
