In science, what do people think is more important when choosing a PhD? The topic or the lab techniques that you will learn? There is a PhD i am thinking of applying for. The topic is interesting but not something I am really passionate about. But it does invloves learning very good molecular techniques that can be applied to any subject area.

Many PhDs in sciences use techniques that are interchangable with other research projects. The quality of the research project and the lab it will be in should be your main focus.
