I have an Mpharm (1st class) and want to do a PHD. I'm interested in organic chemistry or pharmaceutics. Was my degree too broad? Do I have a chance of competing aginst a straight chemistry student? Are there any Pharmaceutics PhDs, or is this the wrong place to look?
Your MPharm is a good foundation for a broad range of subjects and you should not be discriminated against whether you stick to pharmaceutics, or move to related areas of chemistry or biology.
I am a m.pharm and doing phd in uk withpartial funding
U have to be specific in your area..if u have done chemistry (m.pharm) then go for chemistry and if ceutics than ceutics.
It is very diffi to afford staying also ..so rely on complete scholarship..if u u can ask ur supervisor whether u can do part time work over here to cover ur staying but trust me it is very diffi. It took me two years..
It wont cost to apply in UK (not much in terms of USA) so apply both place dont rely on uk but if u get funding prefer UK (3 years). If u get only fees scholarship go for it...please dont give any negative points in refernce..decrease ur chance for scholarship.
