Hi everyone
I ve finished Msc biotech in India.last one year i sought for phd opportunities in abroad, but cant managed to get scholarship. Some saying that it would be better to do MSc again in countries like Germany, Sweden etc....then it ll be easy to get phd over there. but im just planed to take Mres in UK and look for phd, but i heard in uk the stipend is relatively very low wen compare to other countries like Netherlands and Germany and all...which one could be the better option? can u give me some suggestion regarding this...
And also im quite aimed at industrial PhD options, so i thought doing MSc in Germany or Sweden would help me to get job there and pursue PhD. i would like to know abt this, expecting some suggestions. thanks :-)
hi Prem
I'm sorry I don't know what suggestions to give you now; I'm not sure what you want to do.
But just wanted to share with you:
For me, the phd stipend in UK isn't that low (my friends in Portugal/Italy get much less!); its just the living expenses in UK; tend to be high, have to pay for this and that. Even TV license :-) If you are lucky and share a house/flat with people whom you are compatible with (and vice versa), then you can save money. Otherwise living alone somewhere (paying for rent, utilities etc.) can take a huge chunk out of your monthly stipend.
Good luck with your choice

hi prem
I only know one link from DAAD
http://www.daad.de/deutschland/foerderung/hinweise/00461.en.html
but you can google Germany phd scholarships and lots will come up :-)
Also (for me) sometimes I find the scholarship websites confusing; but thats because lots of words just put me off (or I'm lazy to read..) its easier to go directly to the university website and look.
You'll like it in Germany!!! good luck!
