Hi I've been accepted to start a phd this autumn, which is gonna involve magnetic resonance imaging, and from the sound of it the scanning will be starting fairly near the start (it is an existing project where i applied to be a phd student attached to project) anyway i want to bruch up on the background of mri, but struggle with the physics side, so does anyone know of a good textbook that is easy to understand?
I am also using fMRI and I have just bought Functional Resonance Imaging by Heuttel, Song and Mc Carthy, as suggested by my Prof. I also bought Handbook of Functional Neuroimaging of Cognition by Cabeza and Kingstone, eds. Both excellent books with all the physics etc. you will need. They are expensive, £50 but good quality hard covers that you could re-sell or keep. My Prof. has also arranged for me to sit in on the methods sections of the MSc fMRI course and is sending me to do the 3 day induction course on how to work the scanner.
Hope this helps...
