MSc + Research Assistant job = Better chance when applying for PhD?

G

Hi.. After completing my MSc next year, one of my options is to try for a research assistant post for say 2 years(1 that doesn't require a PhD) - just wondered ... would this improve my chances in getting a place for a PhD after that?

Yes it would improve your chances, but there's is no harm in trying to start a PhD directly after completing your MSc.

HI I did a MSc to get into a PhD and you shouldnt have a prob getting one straight away as long as in relevant subject area

Thanx! :) I realise that I could go for a PhD directly after my MSc but I thought I might take some time out to make some money - big student loan to pay off! :) But thanx for the advice..
