MSc without an undergraduate degree

G

I am applying to do a MSc in Public Service Management having worked in central government for 5 years; however, I do not have an undergraduate degree. One university has accepted me based on my work experience but the other (which I'd rather attend) has a much better reputation and has asked to some written work. In all honesty, do you think it is possible to go straight to a Masters without having a first degree? If no, do I do the undergraduate or take a PG Dip as an entry route?

It would seem that the university you wish to attend does not think being without an undergraduate degree is a problem for the Masters program you are applying to join - however they naturally want to check that you will be good enough to pass the course and have therefore asked for some written work to prove it. This would seem a great way of saving three years study.

If you're unsuccessful then ask the people running the courses you are applying for what they'd recommend.

An interesting question as rather similar to my own position. Excuse me for asking, but which universities are you referring to?
