can PhD student afford nannies.if yes how much studentship should they get to afford a nanny(my husband is working full time)/
suppose i want to keep a nanny for 6 hours a day how much should i get to ensure that i can afford to keep a nanny for 30 hours a week
Child care is expensive. Even if you managed to find a Nanny who would work for the minimum adult wage i.e. £5.05 per hour from Oct 2005, it will cost you £151.50 per week for 30 hours, so £606 per month minimum and probably much more. That will be a large proportion of any student's monthly income. Sending your child to a nursery may be cheaper than hiring a Nanny? Your university may even have it's own crèche although there may well be a waiting list for places. Hope you can work something out.
vinita..on a phd's studnetship....its not possible! if your husband is working in UK then it should be possible! try as ann advised! I believe if your on commonwealth scholarship they pay for your family..other university based scholarship are based on research conucil rates apt for one member only!
