Hi,
I have sent a mail to one of the research supervisors in the imperial university, got the mail id from the website. I have gonr through the work and out of interest I posted him anf projected my willingness. I mentioned that "it would be my pleasure to work voluntarily as well" , but no reply. I sent a reminder mail two days back after waiting for a month. Am afraid, if still there's no reply, Can I go fot a third mail? And Can I ask if he could refer me to someother supervisor if in case he has no research projects going on currently? Will it look unfair? The other supervisor' work also was related to the same field from same university has astonishing publications, but I did not post a mail to him, thinking if that' not the correct way of approach to request parallely!
Please give your suggestions! Your valuable advices are welcome and it will be of great help!
Emailing is the right way to go about contacting supervisors and they can be slow to reply. Though not all lecturers are looking for PhD students, even if self-funded. I would contact a few lecturers at various universities and see who is interested.
Yeah. I am doing that! How many days could I wait for response?? Am in a dilemma, if I can mail another supervisor of the same university in case am not receiving any sort of reply for 2 months even after mailing twice.
People on this forum usually recommend waiting a month between emails. After 2 months it should be okay to email another supervisor in the same university.
