Hi guys,
I have recently submitted a paper to a reputed journal in my field. As instructed in the website of the journal, the manuscript was to be emailed to the editor-in-chief, which I did. However after more than a month, I have revieved no confirmation from them. Previously, for my other paper, I had uploaded on the website of another journal and immediately recieved confirmation after that. Should I be concerned or is this something normal?
Many thanks!
You should chase the editor for a reply.
Even if you receive an automatic reply from a journal when you have uploaded a manuscript, the manuscript can still take a while to be sent out to editors and then they can take a while to send it out reviewers, who can they take a while to respond etc
A month is long enough to wait for an initial response so contact the editor again.
